Shining Our Light, One Candle At A Time

Hello there! You—uniquely yourself, writing your story and walking your path—are perhaps, like me, on a journey for peace, joy, and authentic connection, seeking hope and purpose in this challenging yet beautiful life.

My journey began in 2018 with a two-week mission trip to the Philippines, where I volunteered at a local outreach, visited an orphanage, and served at safe houses for survivors of human trafficking and sexual abuse. What started it all? Two words: “Talitha Koum,” an Aramaic phrase found in Scripture meaning “little girl, rise up!

As a survivor who found healing through forgiveness, embracing the past, and faith in a God who redeems and brings beauty from ashes, the phrase deeply resonated with me—so much so that I had it tattooed on my arm. The promise of restorative healing and rising from the ashes inspired me and moved me into action.

As a lover of nature, Scriptures, scented candles, photography and watercolor, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty found in creativity, the power of stillness, and the value of living an unhurried life. I believe that, amidst our hectic schedules, the simple act of slowing down and lighting a candle can help us thrive, uplift our spirits, and bring a sense of peace.

Inspired by my trip to the Philippines and fueled by my compassion for the oppressed and love for candles, I founded Talitha + Rae—a premium candle company rooted in quality, sustainability, and purpose. Each Talitha + Rae candle is hand-poured with ethically sourced, vegan, cruelty-free, and chemical-free ingredients. Driven by purpose, we donate one-third of our profits to humanitarian aid. Every candle supports organizations dedicated to fighting human trafficking and sexual abuse, providing freedom and healing to survivors.

As human trafficking continues to grow, we stand against this injustice with compassion and unwavering commitment to never turning a blind eye. By lighting a Talitha + Rae candle, you’re not just bringing light + warmth into your home—you’re also supporting a purpose-driven mission, contributing to the freedom + healing of survivors around the world. Together, we can turn a simple act of lighting a candle into a meaningful movement for change.

Together, let’s shine our light and fight the darkness, one candle at a time.

This is just the beginning. Freedom is coming! Come and be a part!

In Gratitude + Light,

Leilani
